Thankfulness

Judah and I's past time :)
Silas soccer team "The Ram's"

So after I posted last, the very next day Matt came home to tell me he had lost his job. I couldn't really think clearly when he told me. It felt like it was a dream. I was upset, mad at the company, mad at Matt and God. Matt was also upset, he was very very quiet and I could tell he had felt like he let us down.(Which isn't at all true) I didn't really know how to feel after that. We did know that God was faithful to us because He also has been in the past. We knew that God would take care of us but we didn't know what direction He wanted us to go. We had a lot of friends praying for us and a lot of people helping Matt with looking for a job. One of his friends from a couple years ago that he was friends with saw on Facebook that he was looking for a job. He contacted Matt that day and then within a couple of days Matt was getting things ready for work. He was home for a week. He had lost his job on a Thursday and was back at work the very next. God is so good. Silas, Judah and I really enjoyed the extra time we got to spend with daddy. We went for walks, parks, daddy helped Silas with homework, took complete care of Judah and loved on me. It was great! Now everything is back to "normal" with Silas playing Upward Soccer which is going awesome, he scored his first goal last weekend and their team won! Judah and I started back to our routine of spending our fun time together. I'm really thankful for the job God provided Matt with again! He always does. I wanted to share one of my favorite scriptures with everyone.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5 3-5

Update

Ok ok...so its been forever since my last post. I wanted to update everyone on our life. We now have Judah who is 2 and is very active...I mean VERY active and I still stay at home with him. Silas is 5 and is now in Kindergarten. I still can't believe how much he has grown. Matt is still working at R&R exactly where God wants him. He does so well at providing for his family. We are thankful everyday for Matt's hard work and for him obeying his call God has placed on him at this season. We are working with the youth with our church Trinity Baptist Church. I grew up there and we just started going back in January where God placed a calling on our hearts to work with the youth there. Its pretty amazing seeing the youth falling in love with Jesus. We are so blessed to have them in our life's. We are so excited to see what our next step in our walk with Jesus will be. I am working on becoming the women I was made to be by my God. I live everyday to be more like him and to listen to everything God has for me to do. We are a family who lives out the Great Commission!

Summertime

I love the summer! We have a lot we have to do this summer! We have to get ready for Judah, we are very very excited! I think Silas is starting to understand that it really is his little baby brother inside my stomach. He is very sweet to it, he kisses my belly and talks to Judah all the time! He is going to be a very great brother! Anyway not much else going on except that Matt has been working nights. :( Boo! We hope all is well with you and your family!

Recentish pictures

Hello All!
We are so excited to announce that we are having another baby boy! His name will be Judah Clyde Shirley! He is coming in August, probably on the 10th. We are so excited to be welcoming a new baby into our family. Silas is so cute, we ask him what his little brothers name is and he says "Judah". He is so smart and so so sweet. I am 23 weeks last friday. Half way done and starting to get a little bit uncomfortable (ha) but its worth it with my new little man! I am looking forward to the summer, we will be doing a lot of water and sum activities at the park. Also Matt is working in Port Arthur right now, so he is getting up extra early and driving back and forth everyday. We are so blessed to have the best daddy and husband EVER! Everyone enjoy the rest of April and all of May!

Silas is so big

Silas is getting to be such a big boy. Today Matt called and was talking to Silas. It was so sweet, Silas was all into it. He started saying guitar I think it was Jan 1. He loves to say it and also loves to tell you No if he doesn't want to do something. He is so smart and is still getting into everything. Another favorite thing of mine that he does is dance. But he like really gets into it....its so cute, he even gets down low and dances! I love this little man so much! Anyway hope everyones week goes great!!!

So its the day after Chirstmas! I enjoyed it so much and I'm sad to see another year pass. We took Silas to go see Santa again this year and took his picture...Wow does he look like a 3 year old in the picture! It makes me sad:( We are so thankful for yet another Christmas! Time to spend with family and friends! Thank you so much Lord!!!
